Once an unknown band from Indiana, Student Rick caught the eye of Victory Records, who then introduced the punk-pop band with emo tendencies to the world. The young band went from playing in Midwestern farm towns to playing at the ~2002 CMJ New Music Marathon seemingly overnight. In summer of that same year, Student Rick -- comprised of Adam Reiter (guitar/vocals), Brett Jones (guitar/vocals), Jason Pavilanas (bass), Zach Davis (drums) -- recorded its debut album in Fort Collins, CO, with Bill Stevenson, formerly of the Descendents.
