In North Carolina, a former high school teacher who had sex with her 15-year-old student has been able to avoid jail time by divorcing her husband of 19 years and marrying her “victim.”

42-year-old Leah Gayle Shipman married Johnnie Ray Ison, two years after being arrested for having sex with the boy when he was her student.
