The Food and Drug Administration announced yesterday that they'll investigate AeroShot Pure Energy, an inhalable caffeine product that's been on the market for a month.
Breathable Foods, the company that makes AeroShot, says in a statement that the powder that comes packaged in a yellow and gray canister is "a safe, effective product that complies with FDA regulations."
However, the FDA is investigating the product's dietary supplement classification. For now, the product is being sold in convenience stores in Massachusetts, New York and France for $2.99.
Among those voicing concerns about the product is New York Senator Charles Schumer who fears AeroShot will be abused by young people who drink excessive amounts of alcohol. Source: Los Angeles Times
